SBS Triple Diamond Sharpening Station Special

    This is an extremely well built tool so far. The diamonds are aggressive in the beginning as expected so I am hoping with use this will even out and make a long lasting sharpening system. For planes and chisels this works better than my own whetstone jig – nothing to set up at all.

    Please be aware of the following! Due to the closeness of the middle stone this is unusable to sharpen most all knives and router bits. I am “training” the stones to be used always on the right side (so flipped when working up grits) so the outer grits can still be used however. The stropping plates can be rearranged so this also is not an issue. I rarely need to go down to a 600# anyway and if I do I’ll get my single purpose whetstone out on that grade.

    Overall fantastic, as long as you also understand it’s design limitation. For the money it can’t be beat!

    A beautiful setup. I’ve been sharpening everything in sight since I received it a few days ago. Really well made and the carrying bag was a nice surprise.

    Finally, everything I need to put a precise edge on tools is on one convenient platform that can be easily stowed away when not in use. The surfaces are large enough to be precise and accommodate jigs while sharpening. It is compact enough to fit on a busy bench when and while it is needed. Setting up to sharpen is no longer an exercise in gathering the right stones, truing them, and trying to keep them all together. I like this system.
